Chloe Saunders | Darkest Powers

Chloe was laying on her bed working on a new story when the phone rang. She wasn't expecting anyone to call and anyone who wanted her would come to her room to find her. The phone rang again and she reached over to answer it.

Chloe listened to the dial tone for a moment before she hung up the phone. She laid back on her bed and stared up at the ceiling.

Who would she warn that something could happen to her and keep her from coming back? Especially if not coming back meant that Edison had won whatever battle might happen with Andrew's friends and she was terminated?

"Gah." She rolled over on her stomach, burying her face in her pillow. Terminated. Because the Edison Group considered them experiments instead of people. And if you were one of their failed experiments, they didn't kill you because you were nothing more than a science project. They simply terminated the experiment.

So who could she tell? Who would she tell?

Ino, definitely. She was Ino's Rookie and she would definitely want to know if something could happen to her. Mitchell? Yes. She was sure that he would have a seriously problem with someone wanting to kill his student. Reno? Well, Ino was his Rookie and she was Ino's Rookie. Would that make him want to know or not know? Karla? Kennedy? Faith? K-Mart?

Chloe groaned again. Nothing like a reality check from the friends who were on the run with you to kill a cheerful mood.
